Ed. Varie is pleased to present a group show, PRESERVATION, in Miami Beach
Thursday Dec 5th through Sunday Dec 8th 2-8PM
PRESERVATION includes the work of artists Mark Delong, David Brandon Geeting, Priscilla Jeong, Bryan Krueger, Lee Maida, Jake McNulty, Evan Robarts, Anna Sorenson, and Grant Willing.
As part of the ongoing dedication of Ed. Varie to integrate and motivate vast communities of artists, the exhibition PRESERVATION seeks to conform to the given landscape of South Beach, not altering, but weaving itself into a pre-existing private residence. With a common interest and the mutual effort to create a stronger and more sincere bond between the contemporary art community and South Beach, private home and residence at 2120 Sunset Drive, Sunset Island #4 has been graciously lent by 4th generation South Beach natives and South Beach Preservationists, the Robarts Family.
The work of the nine artists in this group exhibition derive from various states of preservation; physical preservation, self-preservation, and the lack of control to preserve, archive or salvage present materials, objects or images. Transversely other works illuminate concepts and emotions revolving around loss, memory, attempts, successes and/or inabilities to save them. The bodies of work composing the exhibition PRESERVATION span a wide range of media; Mark Delong, painting and sculpture; David Brandon Geeting, photography and sculpture; Priscilla Jeong, installation, sculpture and performance; Bryan Krueger, photography; Lee Maida, mixed-media painting and sculpture; Jake McNulty, installation and photography; Evan Robarts, sculpture; Anna Sorenson, painting and performance; and Grant Willing, photography.
Special performances and offerings include; Your Application Is Pending, a performance by artist Anna Sorenson based upon governmental involvement in border control situations. Daily Decompression Session cocktail hour every evening from 7-8pm. Hangover and Farewell Brunch with Lele Saveri and The 8 Ball Bike Stand Sunday December 8 12-2pm. Juices created by Priscilla Jeong, mimosas and brunch treats.
Daily hours are from 2-8pm Thursday December 5th through Sunday December 8th.
